Comic books have always had a a significant place in our society. When they have appeared in newspaper "Politika" - comic books brought problems! Some members of the royal family have recognized themselves in the picturesque story of Mickey Mouse and the state censor swiftly banned the publication of Disney's animations in order to avoid scandal about "grabbing the throne"! My mother told me that in Belgrade was already known that the comic book is something that can destabilize the political order? I'm surprised that the rulers of the nineties did not abolish episodes of the Dalton brothers: they were just like them! I guess that "Gunfighters" in Yugoslavia's national leadership has been so busy with their own shooting and looting of the country that they didn't have time to read anything other than military topographic maps. Who cared at all for the "ninth art" back then!
Since I was born I was faced with the fact that this "bind phenomenon", which I hide behind the washing machine in the bathroom is something harmful, potentially very dangerous and disturbing in every sense and that it's something that you shouldn't have. Every time when I wanted to go in a bathroom, my parents have been giving me "Anna Karenina": "Take this, my son, don't be stupid. Throw out the trash!". While the water was dropping, I was holding "Anne", but over that book there was always comic book Modest Blaise. I loved it! Forever young, with special skills, without the use of force, always detained the suspects, which had escaped from justice. This can not be said for our agents, which seems to continue to look for something that is so hard to find. Almost impossible. Plus, unlike Karenina, Modesti haven't suffocated anyone and, also, haven't had suicidal ideas!
Tolstoy's novel, somehow, in the end, was a book that you must read: my generation is the last generation, which respected the words of parents. Along with Flash Gordon, Anarchy, The Sofia-Neja and his Uncle, Commander Mark, Black The Rock, Ani four guns, and, as a treat, Alan Ford gang I read more than required reading materials. I'm sure that I won't be right if I say this for my children. They don't have books nor comic books, only cell phones and MP3 players...
Now in front of the toilet I lurk the big secret of the New York fascicule TNT Group. I remind of some smuggler when I make an offer "good goods": "Pay attention, son, the striking similarity of early American Mafia and the local fake elite and some influential personalities ..."
And I did it! I hear the enthusiasm from the bathroom: "Hello, Bing, I have a little yacht for you! Low price ... Well, dad, these are the same! Serbian TNT! Ha-ha ... " - the child is smiling while he flushes current economic situation! He barely heard for Anna Karenina. His sister helped him with writing an essay about that "super hot chick, married to an old man. She was bored, so she meets, like, a hot guy on a party and she falls in love with him, so they start dating, and she was so sorry that she killed herself and all that on a thousand pages..."
Darko Kalezić - editor, journalist, publicist, writer, musician... - The last copy of a real man! Combination of love, art and culture is the thing that characterizes him the most!
